Mauritius Oil Refineries Ltd. (Moroil) is seeking for a cashier to join its team.

The Cashier is responsible for preparing the daily sales records of all cash, cheques, and credit card/bank transactions for banking purposes and ensuring that the correct amounts are collected in a timely manner. The person also scans products, ensures that prices and quantities are accurate, accepts payments, issues receipts, answers inquiries, and provides helpful information to customers at the sales counter.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Provide a welcoming and professional customer experience at the counter and over the phone. 
•    Accurately manage all customer transactions including cash, credit, and digital payments. 
•    Scan goods, verify pricing, issue receipts, and process sales-related requests. 
•    Maintain balanced cash and cheque records and report discrepancies promptly. 
•    Ensure that all receipts are processed in a timely manner.
•    Ensure daily lodgements and reports are prepared and sent to respective departments.
•    Handle daily cash counts, credit memos, and transaction logs.
•    Assist with product transfers, stock verification, and merchandising.
•    Ensure cleanliness and proper display of products at the retail shop.
•    Perform any other cognate duties related to the post and department.


Qualifications & Experience:

•    At least Higher School Certificate or any other qualification deemed acceptable by the Company.
•    At least 3 years proven experience in a similar role.
•    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP).

 

Skills & Competencies:

•    Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
•    Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
•    Good communication and teamwork abilities.
•    Good understanding of accounting and finance principles.
•    Proficient with Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook etc).
•    Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
