The importance of food safety
In view of improving the overall safety of its products and to comply with the prevailing local Food Act, management at Moroil implemented in 2000 a food safety system based on the requirements of HACCP principles. This systematic approach demonstrates that Moroil operates as a team fully conscious of the importance of food safety and its relevance to Moroil’s sustenance.
Furthermore Moroil’s management undertakes to provide the necessary resources and support for the effective implementation and maintenance of HACCP.
It is our policy at Moroil to supply to our customers edible oils which are safe for use and in compliance with Mauritian Standards. We shall comply with the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements prevailing in Mauritius, in particular to the actual Mauritian Food Act. We shall ensure the application of this policy through the implementation of a Food Safety System based on current Codex Alimentarius General Principles of Food Hygiene including the Annex on HACCP principles. We want to be recognized as the leading edible oil refinery in the region, caring for our customers and contributing significantly to the Mauritian Society. We value the contribution of our employees and are aware that their input is of significant importance for our success. All our employees have been made aware of this policy and their role in its implementation.
