Recipe
Ingredients :
- 2 cups whole wheat Flour
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Oil
- ½ cup warm water (or as required)
- Required Oil for deep frying
Preparation
- Mix flour, salt and oil together in a large bowl.
- Add a little warm water at a time and knead to form a dough. 3. Coat it with a couple drops of oil and set aside for at least 10 minutes.
- Then, knead the dough once again and divide it into small balls.
- Roll one at a time to a nice, smooth round ball and flatten it.
- With the help of a rolling pin, shape it to an even round disc to a thickness of 2mm.
- Allow the oil to be well heated, and slide gently the puri from its side.
- Once the puri starts to float, gently press one side with a frying ladle to help the puri to puff up.
- Flip the Puri and cook both side till golden brown.
- Remove the Puri and drain the excess of oil before placing it on an absorbent paper towel.
- Repeat the process with the rest of the dough balls.
- Serve hot puris with potato masala/potato bhaji or with something sweet.
